Astrophotography Gallery > Star Trails > Jupiter Setting
Date: Saturday, April 19, 2014
Location: Ahwahnee Hills Observatory
This three-hour timelapse shows many stars, as well as the Planet Jupiter, setting in the northwestern part of the Ahwahnee sky. There are enough houses in the area to dot the forest landscape with color, however, the sky itself remains beautiful and dark. In-camera noise reduction was turned on, so this image took a total of six hours to record.
